Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Seeding Labs?
Seeding Labs is a clinical research organization focused on advancing microbiome science through rigorous, participant-centered human studies. We work with academic researchers, clinician scientists, and research partners to better understand how the microbiome may influence health across different life stages.
Our team brings together expertise in clinical research operations, microbiome science, bioinformatics, data analysis, and participant support. We design and run studies with a focus on scientific integrity, ethical research practices, and a respectful experience for the individuals and families who choose to participate. Our mission is to help translate complex microbiome data into meaningful evidence that can support better research, better health insights, and healthier futures.
Do you have a stake or ownership in the products you test?
No. Seeding Labs does not own or sell the products being evaluated in our studies unless clearly disclosed. Our role is to design and conduct research, collect and analyze study data, and protect the integrity of the study process.
How often do you enroll for studies?
Enrollment depends on the study. Some studies are open for a limited recruitment window, while others may enroll on a rolling basis. The best way to see what is currently available is to visit our “Currently Enrolling Studies” page.
I still have questions. What's the best way to reach someone?
Please email us at hello@seedinglabs.co and a member of our study team will get back to you.
Reactions and side effects
Participants in the intervention arm will receive action plans that are personalized to their microbiome results. These actions can include lifestyle, dietary, and supplemental suggestions. All suggestions are publicly available, and all recommended actions taken during this study are voluntary and at the discretion of parents and their child’s healthcare providers. It is possible that infants will experience side effects to these actions. Most common side effects to probiotics include abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, gassiness, or bloating. To decrease risk of side effects, all probiotic, supplemental, or dietary actions should be discussed with the child’s healthcare provider. All probiotics and supplements should be taken as advised by the manufacturer.
Help shape the future of microbiome science.
If you are interested, please complete the survey. If you qualify for the study, a clinical coordinator will meet with you virtually to enroll you in the study and sign consent forms.
